Jeff Reeser and Amy Reeser Freese never intended to join the family upholstery business. In fact, Amy had to convince her oldest brother that moving to Tennessee in 2015 would offer him a fresh start after he lost his late wife and resigned from his longtime career as National Sales Manager for an international scoreboard company in Des Moines, IA.

Amy and her family of five had moved South in 2004, after spending nine years living in downtown Chicago. Her first few years in Tennessee were spent on a personal growth journey leading her to become a Certified Christian Life Coach, Columnist for Brentwood Home Page & Your Williamson, as well as a podcast host of ‘designHer living’ before realizing she craved an even closer daily connection with people.

With her background in design and management from her pre-kids days, Amy’s mother suggested she come into Cool Springs Upholstery and work a few days with customers. Eleven years later, and now co-owner with her brother Jeff, Amy has found purpose and meaning in the most unexpected of places.

Today, Jeff oversees and manages the commercial side of the business and keeps everyone chuckling, while Amy interfaces with local and non-local interior designers and manages residential projects. Although the elder Reesers have since retired, they still pop in to say hello and will even make some house calls to some of their former clients. Mom Reeser loves it when she can thread her needle and head to long time client, the renowned Grand Ole Opry, to stitch up some of the seats that patrons have gotten too comfortable in.

The Reesers, who were raised on a farm in Central Illinois with two other brothers, learned from a young age the value of hard work, hometown values, and the importance of treating all people, famous or not, with respect and fairness. Now, they work daily to sustain and build upon the legacy their parents established at Cool Springs Upholstery more than 26 years ago.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

We proudly support Williamson Medical Center and MusiCares! When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we were contacted by longtime client Williamson Medical Center to create hundreds of masks for their frontline health care providers and we were happy to oblige.

In December 2019, we hosted a concert by Farewell Angelina in our showroom to benefit MusiCares, a nonprofit organization that provides a safety net of critical assistance for people in the music community in times of need, including services and resources to cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies. Cool Springs Upholstery is blessed to name many musicians as clients and friends, and we were thrilled that more than $5,000 was raised at the event.
